Deco Debutante Shoot!

‘Deco Debutante’ shoot at the wonderful Warren House  was something that I had been meaning to do for a very long time. After all the hubbub of my fair www.missvintageaffair.co.uk had died down a bit the first person I wanted to contact was Annamarie Stepney Photography, who really does take a wonderful picture. After meeting and discuss with other suppliers we decided to go ahead with the wonderful Warren House in a quiet little spot in Kingston, Surrey .

In the early 1900s, Warren House was the ideal setting for royal hospitality and society parties. The Paget’s , the owners of Warren House, were great friends of King Edward and featured prominently in both London and New York societies. Lady Paget was the former Miss Minnie Stevens of New York, “who had created quite a stir in London with her beauty”. In August 1906, The New York Times wrote that, “Lady Paget has been successful in advancing the interests in fashionable society in London of her American friends.
The style of this shoot was themed around style icons from the 30's such as Wallis Simpson, and the glamour of the actress Romola Garai in the film Glorious 39.
It was an amazing day... and here is a little preview of what is to come a bit later in the month. Check out the amazing pink and green layered cake! My personal favourite!

The Flying Ducks Catering Company ... wedding food with a vintage twist!

I just wanted to share with you an amazing vintage catering company that I have come across.
This is vintage yumminess at its best! Now who wouldn't want a vintage caravan serving yummy food like this at their wedding?

The Flying Ducks are a unique event caterers with an original British vintage caravan, converted to a fully working mobile kitchen to cater for your event. The have worked at venues such as Hampton Court Palace but can provide food at any event.

The theme is quintessential Britishness! Whether it’s a gourmet fish finger sandwich, a cottage pie, a bacon butty or an array of delectable canapés and cocktails, it’s all delicious and beautifully presented.

Covered in vintage bunting and fairy lights by night, we are able to add to the vintage experience with outfits, music and props so that your chosen event, whatever it may be, will be totally unique. This 12ft of caravan loveliness truly is a thing of wonder.

Gin in a china tea cup anyone?

Please support the this Cancer Charity by buying 2012 The Treasure Chest Calendar

We were so glad to support this amazing charity by lending out some vintage props and china for the shoot! Please support this charity by buying one of these amazing 2012 calendars!

10 lovely ladies who have and are going through breast cancer decided to do a vintage style calendar girl’s style shoot to raise funds for the Fountain Centre. The Fountain Centre is a charity for cancer patients, their families and carers located in the St Luke’s cancer unit at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford. They offer advice, counselling and a huge range of complementary therapies, in a calming and relaxed atmosphere.

They have been overwhelmed with offers to support the shoot. The stunning Fetcham Park in Leatherhead was the location for the shoot, with amazing photographs taken by Nina Duncan the photographer, with hair accessories supplied by the fantastic Jo Barnes.

Vintage Floral Teas to a Tee at Denbies!

Last week Vintage Floral Teas was exhibiting at Denbies wine estate wedding fair. We had the most amazing reponse and everyone said the most lovely things about our china and flowers. It was so great to talk to brides to be, grooms and their families. It also featured our latest finds; a beautiful blue 1960's Remington Travel Typewritter available to hire for an alternative wedding guestbook or just a great prop, and our really very stunning silver plated 14" original 1950's wedding cake stand, which is going down a treat!

If you missed us at the Denbies Wedding fair then do get in touch if you want either a consultation or just to chat about your wedding ideas. We are offering good deals on vintage china hire at the moment, so give us a call or email me. amelia@vintagefloralteas.co.uk.

At the fair we also met the lovely Melanie who make the most beautiful wedding cakes, just perfect for a vintage wedding. Her company is called Daisy Chain Cake Company http://www.daisychaincake.co.uk/ Have a look; they look and taste amazing.

I hope you enjoy our pictures of our vintage flowers and china...... More coming soon. X
